Liver is one of the biggest organs in our body. It is also sometimes called the chemical laboratory of the human body due to the fact that in the liver nearly 90% of all metabolic transformations take place. Metabolism is a process of transformation of all the substances that have reached the blood into their derivatives that are less in size and more water soluble. The goal of metabolism is to create a substance that will be easily either absorbed by the cells and used in the processes of protein, carbohydrate synthesis and etc. or excreted form the body. So liver problems are a type of dysfunction of the organism that involves decreased metabolism thus decreased excretion of foreign substances a s well as inability of the liver to properly perform first and second stage of metabolism.
