Kronopol Sp. z o.o. is part of the holding Swiss Krono Group (Ernst Kaindl), the world leader in the branch of wood-based products. The company originated in 1994 as a result of taking over by the holding the State Factory of Particle Boards. On January 7th, 1994 a notarial deed was signed, which was the beginning of a new reality. By multimillion investments the Swiss investor has quickly led to the change of nearly the whole stock of machines as well as technology, thanks to which the quality of boards manufactured has been noticed and appreciated by customers. However, this was not the end of the investment. There are three crucial dates in the company history. 1994 as the beginning of the investment and development of products of the furniture sector. A line for production of particle boards was installed, which revolutionized the production of the plant in Żary. It was the first in Poland ContiRoll press providing the highest board parameters, unattainable in other technologies. The year 1997 is the world-scale investment. A line for production of OSB boards was started up being the world first one in ContiRoll technology. Kronopol entered the market of construction products. In 1998 the third line in ContiRoll technology for production of MDF boards originated. It was an incentive to develop new products, mainly laminate flooring and wall panels. Since the very beginning the company has been investing in production development of enriched products, thus developing the stock of presses for laminating, postforming or cutting to size. Along with the development of a range of products, a distribution network has been extended, both in Poland and on the export markets. At present Kronopol exports to 50 countries on all the continents.
